This module is required if you want to implement controlled shutdown. Controlled shutdown enables settings to be saved (such as the currently displayed page) and enables datalog files to be closed before the power is removed. It also enables a neat "display logo when key is turned off" feature, which just makes your digital dash look better than everyone else's :-)
Now with a simplified installation process, and comes in a case made of ASA with mounting lugs at either end. Wiring is very simple in conjunction with the SDC i/O hat: Just a ground, permanent +12v and ignition +12v on the input side, and the same on the output side to connect to the I/O hat.
